SUMMER MAILING

In an effort to become paperless we have not sent the summer mailing for the last two years.  Some forms will have to be printed and returned as we are not quite there yet, however, many documents will be live and easily accessible on our website.  The calendar will be up and running before the end of August and can be accessed through the above link.  Please review the documents/forms below and sign and have your child bring the required forms to homeroom on the first day of school.

GENESIS
Genesis is our student information system (SIS) and gradebook.  Each student has their own login which should not be shared with anyone.  Each family has one login which is linked to every child in the household. This login is for the family and should not be used by the student.  All grades, progress reports, attendance letters and attendance, report cards, class information, homework, and more are available on Genesis.  You may also update your contact information and emergency contacts eliminating the need for the form.  If you are not able to log in to Genesis you will not be able to view/update this information.  Contact your child's guidance counselor to find out how you can access Genesis.

NATIONAL HOUR OF CODE WEEK

Are you in the 90% or the 10%?

90% of high schools in the U.S. do not offer computer science. Here at Ridgefield Park, we do!  In an effort to raise continued awareness of the computer science program in our school, Ridgefield Park Junior-Senior High School will once again be participating in the National Hour of Code (December 5-9).  This program is available to all ages, and no prior programming knowledge is necessary to participate.  Several teachers throughout the building will be holding coding sessions during the week.  This year includes Star Wars and Minecraft branded applications to help facilitate the process.   According to code.org, "every student should have the opportunity to learn computer science. It helps nurture problem-solving skills, logic and creativity.  By starting early, students will have a foundation for success in any 21st-century career path." All students are encouraged to participate. Check it out.
